Proverbs 12:17-19 "He who speaks truth tells what is right, But a false witness, deceit. There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips will be established forever, But a lying tongue is only for a moment." Brinson Went from Golf Course Pond to the Presence of the Lord. Police found no obvious signs of injury or foul play on the body of a north Minneapolis man whose body was found in a shallow pond Saturday on an Anoka golf course. Jelani Brinson, 24, had been missing a week since he abruptly left a friend's house in Anoka on April 17. Because of his unexplained disappearance, police have said they were considering possible foul play. The body was found in a 2-to-3-foot deep pond at the Greenhaven Golf Course, said Lt. Paul Sommer of the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. He said there were no reports of Brinson being under the influence when he left his friends. Because of the suspicious circumstances, the county medical examiner is doing a thorough autopsy, including a toxicology test, which could take weeks, Sommer said. "There's a lot up in the air," he added. An employee of the golf course called police about 1 p.m. Saturday after seeing the body floating in a pond. The pond is not far from the home on Kennedy Street where Brinson was last seen and railroad tracks near where his tennis shoes and hat were found. Family and friends had searched twice along railroad tracks in Anoka and nearby Ramsey for Brinson. He had a 9-month-old daughter, Zion, and worked for Sprint in Edina. His mother, Alyce Hamilton, said the family is struggling with their loss. "He had a wonderful personality," she said Monday. Hamilton said she'll miss his laughter, gentle nature and his "really crazy grin." She said her son was active in his Christian faith and liked playing soccer. A wake for Brinson was held Thursday at St. Peter Claver Church in St. Paul, that was followed by a funeral on Friday. Besides his mother and daughter, Brinson is survived by his father, Donnie Brinson; brother Jamari Brinson, 21; sister Kai Brinson, 17, and girlfriend Dena Anderson. Brinson was a 2003 graduate of Fourth Baptist Christian School in Plymouth, MN. Brinson was well known by fellow students including JoAnna Harmon and Amy Beacham Straub. He attended Faith Baptist Bible College in the school year of 03-04 and was an all-American soccer player. Brinson attended Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN in the school year of 04-05. He was not able to play soccer because of grades. According to his pastor, Brinson had just been baptized a few months ago. Kyle Courtney Has Water in All the Wrong Places.

Lost Lake Tribune editor and contributor, Kyle Courtney had nine inches of water in his basement last week. At the same time, the 24 year old had no water in the pipes of his western Iowa home. For two days, Courtney had to pump water out of his house and had to drive for nearly a mile to get clean water. Kyle Courtney also applied for a position at a christian school in North Central Alabama as a history teacher. No news yet on that application.

Terry Lange is Prepared and Excited about His New Position. The new Central Seminary Senior class president, Terry Lange submitted to an interview with the Lost Lake Tribune on Friday. The first question asked to Terry was “are you glad to be the Student body president?” He answered that he is glad for the position and that he will be able to develop leadership skills with this one-time possibility. The LLT also asked Terry about the position's responsibilities. Terry replied that the responsibilities include meeting “with the other class officers along with Dr. Zempel.” He “will also sit on the Board as an advisor”. Terry will also lead in organizing the fall picnic and spring banquet. Terry hopes to make the two events great chances for fellowship and unity among fellow students. Terry hopes to do his very best in the upcoming school year. Terry encourages his fellow students to give him feedback about how the seminary is doing and what might need to be improved. Terry says that he is available to hear concerns from his fellow students. Terry also stated that he sees a good attitude among the students in his Hebrew class. He also told the LLT that he will be increasing his class load so he will know the students' attitudes to a better extent soon. He also stated that "the seminary has some influence [on the student's lifestyle], but the greater influence will be from the student's local church in conjunction with the seminary training." Finally, Terry Lange gave some advice for the school to increase its enrollment. First, he stated that the professors need to get their scholarly works recognized by the outside Christian world. He also said that Central will have difficulties with nearby colleges adding graduate level classes and that Central should set it self apart from other schools to "see sustained growth in the future". Central should also be creative in its way of recruitment. Central should also look at other seminaries and see what they do well. Terry stated that these statements are his observations and not the school's official positions. The Other Side of the Aisle a New Feature for the Lost Lake Tribune featuring the views and beliefs of Marcus Troy a devoted supporter of President Barack Obama State plays its hand in targeting online gambling websites Users may be finding ways around Minnesota's attempt to cut off access to the 200 Internet game sites. By PAUL WALSH, Star Tribune Last update: May 1, 2009 - 8:48 PM The state of Minnesota on Friday released the names of 200 online gambling websites it is trying to prevent Minnesotans from using, warning that Internet wagering is illegal. - Yes here we go Minnesota in a time of an economy struggles you want to go and ban a potential cash cow. Really how stupid is this country our own state and let alone any other state that doesn’t see the money possibilities of online poker. Sites for years have wanted to put servers on US soil in states such as ND and SD where many credit card payment centers are. Why hasn’t this happened? Seriously you want to tax these companies which much such a profit? I’m sure they wouldn’t mind you taking some off the top for the ability to have servers within the US. Nope not here in Minnesota, you’re not going to game online anymore. What a big joke, routing your ip address to an overseas server and *poof* there goes the block of an ip address. Minnesota which basically wants to come out and intimidate poker companies because they can’t get any money off of this right now has once again failed. Illegal as this seems to be, I for one applaud any person over the legal gambling age of this state that just goes around any filter the state tries to setup. State of Minnesota you are not to say what I spend my money on,nor are you going to tell any of my fellow Minnesotans as well. So please stop acting like the spoiled baby when you’re not getting a piece of the pie. This column is from Lost Lake Tribune editor and contributor, Marcus Troy Some information gained from: http://www.startribune.com/local/44169927.html?elr=KArksUUUU Editorial. First, let me give you a couple jokes to lighten the mood. What is the difference between the KKK and the Somali Pirates? The KKK has a following of half-wits, The Somali Pirates follow half-wits. They thought Governor Jim Doyle was showing symptoms of the Swine (H1N1) Flu then they realized he had just seen his approval ratings. Let me tell you a little story and you guess who I am talking about. There once was a great leader who created a plan for government make work jobs. He taxed the people and built a building with that money. This building kept thousands of men employed for eighty years. Then when the job was completed this leader's third successor had thousands of unemployed men. In fact, of the the top of this building hadn't collapsed then these men would have been hungry in a few days. However that building was destroyed by the same successor and a field general seven years after it was completed. Who was the great leader? King Herod the Great, his great grandson, Agrippa II, had to deal with 18,000 unemployed men when the Temple was completed in 63 A. D.. Herod the Great had started the Temple in 17 B. C. and seven years after it was completed it was destroyed by Agrippa II and Titus. Sources: Jones A. H. M. The Herods of Judea, Second ed. Clarendon Press, Oxford: 1967, 225-231. Now let me make a parallel. What is the economic stimulus plan? It is a plan that President Obama is touting as a success already http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/foundationforchange. He states that Minnesota alone has 66,000 saved or created jobs because of the stimulus plan. Yeah Right! President Obama plans to steal money from my generation and the next to pay for the jobs of a bunch a middle aged and senior citizens. Instead of lowering the 35% corporate tax rate to 25%, the president will have to raise taxes and possibly levy a carbon tax to pay for his bloated spending. Then he lies about how many jobs have been saved and created. What is the stimulus plan? A new make work program like Herod the Great, thanks President Obama for robbing businesses to pay your constituents. This is the opinion of editor, Ben Fugate
