Why Andrew Luck Would Go Back to Stanford

If you did not know it already, Andrew Luck has ANOTHER year of ELIGIBILITY left at Stanford. He is currently a redshirt Junior (source). Here are the three main reasons why Andrew Luck would GO BACK to Stanford for a Redshirt Senior Year.

1. Stanford does not win the National Championship. If The Cardinal do not win the National Championship this year, then Luck will still have a goal for obtaining a fourth letter at Stanford. He can come back and prove that he is the best college QB ever to play the game.

However if Stanford does win the BCS Championship then Luck's WVU AD dad, Oliver Luck, will determine his new NFL team just like Archie Manning did with Eli in 2004. If Miami has the #1 pick, I GUARANTEE you that Oliver will not let his son sign with the lousy Dolphins. If Denver has the #1 Pick, Oliver may be alright with John Elway and John Fox leading Andrew to a Super Bowl in Mile High. If Indianapolis has the #1 pick, then Oliver will want his son to play at the Luke only if the Colts prove that they are GOOD again. This means they have to keep Peyton and/or make every effort to build a solid defense and a better offensive line. However, if the Colts continue to look shaky, watch Oliver force a trade to a better team which in turn may help the Colts get the players they need.

2. As stated, if Miami, Indianapolis, and Denver are all as bad as imagined, then Oliver most likely will tell his son to stay at Stanford and wait for a better situation. This means that the "Su** for Luck" campaign would continue and would become "Excel for Luck".

3. If Miami and Denver are atrocious and Indianapolis is keeping Manning and pledging to not draft Luck, Luck may declare for the draft WITHOUT an agent and then pull out if no other options are available.

Look for Oliver Luck to determine the outcome here. Although his son did not go to WV as planned, Oliver can still help his son get the career Andrew wants. It worked well for Eli Manning and John Elway, it could work for Andrew Luck.

As a Colts fan, I hope that Irsay and the Polians think about this, because the campaign should be "Look good for Luck".
