The JV Boys game was controlled by Fourth the entire game. The Warriors scored the first twelve points and never looked back. They allowed the Hornets to come within 6 points in the final minutes but the outcome was never really in question.
The Lady Hornets allowed the Lady Warriors too many opportunities to come back in their game. The Lady Hornets opened up a 12 point lead in the early second half. But Fourth Baptist chipped away until it was a 35-33 game with less than a minute game. The Lady Hornets hit two clutch free throws. The Lady Warriors did not hit another shot and ended up losing 37-33 in a close game that could have been a blowout by Lake Region.
The Fourth Baptist Warrior varsity boys opened a 21-8 lead on Lake Region midway through the first half. The Hornets produced a 12-2 run and trailed by a basket at halftime.
The Warriors used seven second-half treys to stay in the game, while the Hornets used superior rebounding and a few clutch free throws to keep it close. The Warriors took a 50-44 lead late but the Hornets quickly erased their deficit with three straight baskets. Then the Warriors had a full court inbound situation with just over 12 seconds to go and a 57-53 lead. Lake Region stole the ball and scored quickly to make it a two-point game. With 3.9 seconds to go, Lake Region fouled Fourth Baptist. Josh Peterson missed the free throw and Lake Region took the rebound up the court. However with less than a second to, Lake Region was called for travelling in the back court. Fourth Baptist in-bounded the ball and the remaining six-tenths of a second expired, to win 57-55.
