Close Alumni Game!

The Pillsbury Comets varsity basketball team and the Pillsbury Alumni played a very tough game on Saturday, November 8th. The two teams played evenly for most of the first half with the Alumni taking a small lead at halftime. Sasha hit four 3-pointers early. The Alumni evenly balanced their scoring in the first half. In the second half, the Alumni took a lead that got as large as 11 points. With 4 minutes to go, the Alumni had a 10 point lead but the Comets came back with an 11-3 and kept the game close. With eleven seconds to go, the Comets were down by two. Marcus Troy took a three pointer but missed then Marko got a long rebound and and made a 13 footer as the clock went to zero. In overtime both teams traded leads and the Comets went up by one with eleven seconds to go. The Alumni lost the ball with nine seconds to go and had to foul the Comets. The Comets made one free throw and took a two point lead. After the ball went out of bounds on a tipped pass, the Alumni had 6 seconds to get a basket. Kyle Courtney's inbound pass was intercepted by Sasha and the clock ran out.
