NTAIBC 2010 Resolutions

Resolution of Appreciation

Whereas, we have been blessed by the gracious hospitality that Woodcrest Baptist Church of Fridley, MN, and their pastor, Mark Poorman, his wife, Connie, and the many volunteers from their congregation extended to us in hosting these meetings and
Whereas, we have been challenged by the faithful preaching and service of Dr. Richard Paige, Jr., Pastor Clarke Poorman, Pasor Robert Fuller, Sr., Pastor Lenard Huebscher, Pastor James Hines, Pastor Richard Jensen, Pastor Garry Thompson, the ministry of Maranatha Baptist Bible College Triumphant Brass, and Chaplain Jonathan Robertson,
Be it resolved,  that we express our deep appreciation to all those who have made the 2010 Annual Meeting of the NTAIBC a great spiritual blessing. May God bless you all for your faithful sdervice to the Lord and to the saints.

Resolution of Appreciation Regarding Our Retiring National Representative, Dr. Richard Paige, Jr.

Whereas, Dr. Richard Paige, Jr., and his wife, Ruth, have faithfully served the NTAIBC for these past nine years, 2001-2010, and have been dilligent in their support of this association to see it grow and prosper for the glory of the Lord and for the good of its constituent churches and
Whereas, under his competent and godly leadership, Dr. Richard Paige, Jr., has emphasized the interdependency of the local church and the interdependency of local churches on the association level, and along with his wife, Ruth, have labored sacrificiallly with humility and dilligence,
Be it resolved, that we, the messengers of the 2010 Annual Meeting of the NTAIBC express or deep appreciation and abiding love for these two dear servants of the Lord. We pray God's richest blessings upon them and we would like to say, to echo the words of our Savior, "Well done, faithful servants!"

Resolution Regarding Millitary Chaplains and the Repeal of "Don't ask, Don't Tell" Policy

Whereas, the NTAIBC has seen the importance of being an endorsing agency for fundamental, Baptist chaplians in the military, and has established "Religious Requiremnts and Practices" for those endorssed chaplians to follow and
Whereas, the chaplains endorsed by the NTAIBC for military ministry hold strong biblical convictions against the practice of homosexuality and desire to minister effectively to those who hold the same faith traditions,
Be it resolved, that we, the messengers of the 2010 Annual Meeting f the NTAIBC, go on record as stating our strong disfavor of any repeal of the military's current "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy as we believe that it could result in "reverse discrimination" if pressure is put upon them to agree with this possible policy change. It is our desire that those chaplains who do not accept homosexuality due to their sincerely held religious beliefs would not be punished or even hindered in their desire to serve as chaplains in the military.

Information gained from the NTAIBC 2010 Annual Meeting, ntaibc.org, and 2009 NTAIBC secretary, Pastor Mark Fugate
